BPTT Update – 4 August

Sunny weather brought over 350 along to Bushy Park for the 153rd running of the Bushy Park Time Trial. Although a bit of a breeze was in the air, both Sharon and I ran hard and it paid off. I managed a small personal best of…..one second, bringing my 5k best time down to 18:33.

On the other hand, Sharon once again picked up her old personal best and kicked it out of the ball-park. Over 70 seconds quicker than her previous time she finished in 27:22. Superb.

Fantastic job Sharon – what an achievement. I hope you really celebrated that PB. You should be really proud of how hard you have attacked this running lark and boy is it paying off. I was really excited for you when I saw you had cracked that 27 min run – Well done!

Thanks Suzan – I am indeed chuffed to bits!! Funny thing is, when we started at the 34:xx who would have thought we could get this fast? You are doing so brilliantly too, a few more long runs in your training and you’ll be even quicker. We’ll be at 25:xx in a few months, with some more hard work of course! See you on Saturday (for a change), I shall be running a bit slower this week as I have a race on Sunday.

  3. David, Sharon,

The reason I write is 2 fold: Firstly a friend passed on David’s blog after the end of May Thames Turbo Triathlon to encourage me to sign up for the one at the end of Aug – It worked & I am in! It looked like the conditions were terrrible on that day but David, you did brilliantly to finish in around 1hr 20secs & your run times are superb (unfortunately my weakest discipline of the 3). How’s your training going for the one in Aug?

Secondly I did my first BPTT last weekend in training for the Hampton Pool triathlon on Aug 27th & realised I finished 2 people ahead of you Sharon – well done on your new PB. What a great event & so well organised too.

Good luck for Aug 27th if you are both taking part.
